Room Signs and Deck signs - Space Station - COMPLETED

Ok, for the space station there are already 11 crew quarters, 11 guest quarters, and 3 officers quarters.

There are also going to be seperate decks too, but until I name them, dont worry about them.

But for the main level, I am gonna need some big signs and room signs.

By Big sign, I mean like Galley, Shopping area, store names, things like that, the name of the station on a plaque.


try to keep them relativly small, if it is going to be a small thing on the map.

like, a street sign on burbank would be a 1:1 ratio on the sign if it was about this big

but it was really about 7 times that size. The closer you can get them to the actual size, the more we can get into the map.

I can stretch/shrink to fit, but that uses more resources. You can get more detail into ones I have to shrink, but try not to make the small details too big.

So you're saying that the textures on the burbank signs looked that big but the actual images were actually 7 times that size? That example you posted was about 150x55 in size, but you need images for the sign that are 1050x385? Some, ah, dimensions to shoot for would be good.

Here's an idea, instead of signs like Shopping Area, Crew Quarters, etc., why not have ward signs? C-Ward for commercial ward, E-Ward for entertainment ward, Q-Ward for quarters ward, etc.

yes the actual sign was the size on the example, but i made the texture 7 times as big just to add lots of detail and clarity.

This was at the end of making burbank, so I knew how much resources I had to spare, but it is better to use textures that can stay close to a 1:1 ratio

Too small to show detail? Just a first sample, went with a gold border to match the gold that's sometimes around those doors. I'm also thinking of making a texture for the walls, because the current one seems sort of needlessly metallic and complicated for a... wall. And it doesn't match together very well in some places.

Looks good, how about fopr the Space Station, you use Deck instead of Ward, and for moonbase lets use Pod.

Alright, can you give me a list of what you plan on being complete decks or just sections of a deck? A deck just for commercial stuff makes sense, while a sign with "ward" for the quarters section would make sense because the deck that the quarters are on have other stuff too. These are fairly easy for me to make since all I have to do is edit the text, now, so don't be afraid to have a long list.

Feel free to make suggestions on business names and what not.

Also, for signs, like ones seen in paradise city, that are clear, make them on a black background and tell me that it is made to be an Additive texture.

anything new? trying to finish up the space station this week

I'll work on it later and possibly tomorrow, though it's looking like Lost Island with the girl and her parents tomorrow, and Adventureland today. Thursday and Friday, I will probably be able to work on these some.
