Quiz
* A patient tumbles in with a knife wound. What do you do? I take the patient to the beds. I numb the wound and begin cleaning it, preventing infection. Then i proceed to stitch the wound and bandage it. If the knife is still in the person, I take them to the e-room. I put the patient to sleep and begin pulling out the knife, avoiding vital organs. I clean the wound, stitch it, then bandage. Upon wake up, we will discuss insurance and payment policy.
* A patient slumps in with a bullet would. What do you do? Because of different caliber and size of bullet, these wounds can be more lethal than that of knife. I immediately take the patient to the e-room and put him/her to sleep. Carefully I pull out the bullet with pliers and/or tweezers. To avoid bleeding, I apply pressure to all the open pathways and assist with a common thickener, till i can close the arteries (if there are any damaged arteries). I clean the wound to prevent infection. I then proceed to stitch and bandage. Upon wake, I warn that too much physical action may loosen the stitches and pull them out. Common aspirin may be prescribed for pain issues. Papers are signed and patient is released.
