Just wandering what game I have to get to play this game, source engine = CSS, HL2, GMOD or will it be stand alone and free / cost?

I thought gm maps usually never used the EP1 engine? Mostly EP2, HL2, CSS are the common ones for it.

will i need to purchase said games, or can i just be a povo australian and use my mates steam acc to DL the games and engine what not and then just DL your mod on my steam acc?

It doesnt work that way. You're not buying the game per say, you're buying the license to USE the games. So even if you download those engines on to your computer and then you use your account, you cant use those games because your account has not purchased the licenses to use those games.

It's how they prevent theft. You need a license to use the engine. In any case, you could just buy HL2, because EP2 uses an advanced source engine over the HL2 source engine, but you'll just get alot of ERROR signs floating around.

No, I know this is in the Source RP dev section, but I am talking about the new mod I am working on.

It will be a standalone mod, but will require an OB game to play. All the resources/assets will be in cluded with the mod itself, but in order to do that, I have to make the game check to see if you own EP2.
