Pirates Online

Lol yeah I know its made by disney but come on... Pirates swords, ships out on the sea shooting giant cannon balls at each other.. Its a pretty tight game man, opinions anyone?

I tried it, concept is good (the voodoo concept sucks though, pirates + voodoo = shitty pirates) but the FPS while sailing or.....anywhere was HORRIBLE. I literally needed my graphics so low my beautiful galleon looked like something from a megablocks ship pack. And even then my FPS sucked.

Yeah what drove be away was the horrid lag, and I totally agree with the voodoo One of the main things that was so alluring to me was sword combat, but the voodoo was so much stronger it nearly made swordplay useless. But during those times where it played smoothly I just loved ship to ship combat in my giant frigate.

And using the crew system was cool, except the cannons 3-fire burts were gay and unrealistic. "FEAR MY 3 LIGTENING CANNONBALLS OF DOOM!!!!111one!!1"

Lol right and people don't fire them one at a time you just see 3 cannon balls in quick succession flying to the ship. But when I joined a guild and we would go plundering on war frigates and war galleons with the ship completely crewed we killed things so fast it was awesome.

*edit* Did you get far enough to take out a flag ship where you're crew actually boarded the enemy ship? That was pretty dang fun

Fun getting the loot or lagging, dying, and getting a debuff?

Probably more so the loot part. Man I remember the guild went plundering on a galleon and i got a 900 gold haul it was amazing. But I agree the negatives outweighed the positives, maybe they'll doctor the game up and make it a little more playable in the future.

tell me when they do, got a 30 day card waiting.

Ha I subscribed a few days ago but I'm probably not going to get a second month. So I wont know, I guess we'll just have to settle for don's masterpiece ;-)
