I will be installing the latest version of Apollo RP on the servers, and using many of the 3rd party plugins now available with it.

This will help to allow more creative roleplaying, without "power-gaming" like some plug-ins tend to do.

This is a list of some of them, and their features:



Medical Tools

Description
This plugin, colloquially known as "pain mod", is designed to simulate real life pain effects from being shot, slashed or bludgeoned

Usage
When shot in the arm, a player will drop their weapon (healed by a Tensor Bandage). When shot in the leg, a player will run slower (healed by a Splint). No matter where they are shot, their pain will go up (healed by Morphine or time) and they will bleed more (healed by a bandage). Raw damage (as in your health) can be healed using a Dermal Regenerator. A player's status can be checked using a Medical Triquarter. Any pain will cause the screen to flash red and between 20 and 50, the screen will shake.


Location Saver

Description
This plugin saves your location when you leave the server then puts you back to that spot if you rejoin.


BookMod

Description
This plugin allows players with certain job flags to write articals in game, using a "Pen" and then publish them so other players can then read them.

Hologuard - not very easy to get 1 of these in game.

Description
Based on the "HoloLounge" plugin but for a more practical application, the hologuard is a personal bodyguard dedicated to protecting its user. It will fight anyone he attacks, is attacked by, or anyone who attacks the hologuard himself. He responds to vocal commands and is proficient with all weapons and unarmed combat. Other than his magnificent reflexes and aim, he is essentially a regular player and will die as easily as anyone else.

Usage
A new item called "Hologuard" will appear in the items list. Give yourself one of them and use it to activate him. He will appear next to you, greet you and will then be ready to go. The following are voice commands he responds to (press y and type "hologuard, [command]" to use them; note that he responds to keywords so you can input a complex sentence and he will weed out words like "follow").

  • "hello" - requests a greeting from the hologuard
  • "disable", "turn off" or "not needed" - disables the hologuard
  • "stay" - toggles hold position mode
  • "come" or "follow" - makes the hologuard follow you
  • "guard" - gives the hologuard to whoever you are looking at
  • "drop" - instructs the hologuard to drop his weapon



Say Items

Description
This plugin allows you to use a chat command to use any item in your inventory.

Usage
Say /item to use an item. If it is longer than a single word (i.e. there is a space in it), wrap it in quotes like this: /item "Nokia N95"


Salesman

Description
Sell your items to other clients for money. You must be looking at the other client.

A menu will pop up which will ask you which item you mean (the options are similar to what you typed). Then a menu will pop up for the other client asking if they want to accept the offer.

Usage

Commands:
- say /dealitem [item] [price]
. item (string: name of item)
. price (integer: cost in dollars)


Casino - found only in the moon base.

Description
This plugin spawns an NPC who you can play blackjack and slots with. So far, slots don't work, but blackjack does.

Usage
Walk up to the NPC and press "e" (or your use key) to begin playing.

Fero

Description
Fero is an addon designed to allow players to customize their HUDs. It features a menu that allows simplified adjustments, including colors, location and the ability to reset one channel or all of them. All settings are saved permanently so users don't have to worry about changing their settings every time they join.

Usage
Say "/menu" and one of the options will be "HUD Settings". Choose this option to open the Fero menu.



Apollo RP (ARP) and many of these 3rd party plugin's are credited to Hawk552 and the Apollo RP Development Team.

calm down there havoc.

While I do like the look of some of these, the Holo Guard is not a great idea. You say "not very easy to get in game", but you know that if it can be done through an item or if any admin can do it, then it will be available to all of that admin's friends.

Hologuard I approve of, instead of using non-existant RP NPC's we can have something that noobs will abide by, plus it looks neat. Just make it so that only people who would have access to a bodyguard realistically will have one, such as leaders of factions and such.

Well, I don't really like that neither. I know already it would be abused by those leaders non-Admin, that will always have one of those bots with them. Plus with the painmod, it will be praticly impossible to kill one of those hologuards, since they're pro on everything and they're not influenced by the health status. Maybe they'll bleed, but they'll be still able to aim and fu. I think those hologuards should be restricted to the Admin team, or be availables to the orgs leaders too, but for huge amounts of money.

Yeah thir just pulg-ins but ever since H9 went down I'm been desperate for any good plug-ins. (other TSRPP servers suck)

And with the holo-guards, I like whatg matty said, only admins and org leaders. They should cost, 100k?

You wouldn't see a Soviet General in real life walking around by himself without any sort of escort, or a Prime Minister just driving around un-protected.


You just don't see these things happen, so I have no problem with Hologuard being used by org leaders and important members.


Theres no such thing as 'abusing' a bodyguard.

The only way a hologuard attacks is if you attack a person, or a person attacks you.

You can't send it out dming, unless you are dming.

Believe me, they wont be easy to come by, but this is a future RP, so it does have a place here. Also, this is an upgraded version, so the Hologuard does have a hologram effect on it, not just a gordon bot.


As far as painmod, I don't see why anyone woyuld have a problem with this.


One of the biggest things that erks me is when people don't RP a gun battle prroperly. Such as a robbery, where you get shot 3-4 times, then proceed to stunt down the street and wall climb over the building.

This will not only prvent that, but also add a lot more RP to the medical team, which has an awesome facility, and is run by an org.

There will also be a doctor NPC for when the Medical Org isnt around, so that you can still get healed.
